From December 7th to 8th, the International Humanities Exchange track of the 2025 inaugural "Von Neumann Cup" Boao International Vocational Skills Challenge was successfully held at the Boao Forum for Asia International Conference Center in Hainan. Five teams from our institute (Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade, ZJIET) strived with determination and achieved remarkable success, securing one gold medal in the Intangible Cultural Heritage Performance Challenge, one gold and two bronze medals in the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition (Works Category) Challenge, and one gold medal in the International Cultural and Creative Products Challenge. The institute was also awarded the "Best Organization Award," fully demonstrating the professional prowess of ZJIET students on an international stage .
The competition closely adhered to the core concepts of "High-Level International Cooperation, High-Quality Industry-Education Integration," under the theme "Skills Integrate the World, Heritage Charms All." It attracted over 200 teams from nearly 100 schools across more than 20 countries and regions, building a solid bridge for cross-cultural exchange and serving as a landmark practice for vocational education in aligning with national strategies, inheriting Chinese cultural heritage, and serving industrial development .

Our students gained attention through their exquisite skills: two teams from the School of Cooperative Economics vividly interpreted the elegant charm of intangible cultural heritage tea art through the performance piece "Elegance of Lin'an: New Rhymes of Qiongtai" and the exhibition work "Jiuqu Hongmei Tea Non-Cultural Heritage Production Technique." Two teams from the School of Digital Finance and Intelligence demonstrated the integration of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics through their exhibition works "Thousand Peaks Emerald: The Revival of Celadon Non-Cultural Heritage" and "Sails Swaying in the Blue Sea, the Rich Charm of Cloisonné." A team from the School of International Education conveyed the profound historical depth of traditional Chinese culture with their international cultural creative work "New Discourse on the Great Wall" .

During the event, our teams presented live demonstrations of Jiuqu Hongmei tea art and exhibited cultural and creative products at the Intangible Cultural Heritage and International Cultural Creative Products exhibition zone, receiving widespread attention and praise from domestic and international guests, institutional representatives, and enterprise dealers . These achievements vividly reflect the outcomes of the institute's efforts in deepening industry-education integration and innovating its talent cultivation model. Moving forward, the institute will continue to focus on cultivating high-quality skilled talents, promoting the resonance between professional development and industrial growth, and nurturing high-level technical and skilled talents who possess both technical expertise and humanistic literacy, meeting the demands of the times .
