The event brought together over 260 teachers from 34 universities and colleges across Zhejiang Province for two specialized training sessions and in-depth discussions focused on core topics such as vocational student engagement, standards updates, and practical application .

The workshop featured leading Australian vocational education experts as keynote speakers, including Tabatha Griffin, Team Leader from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER); Ferguson, Senior Lecturer from South Metropolitan TAFE; Henry Chen, Quality Teaching and Learning Consultant from South Metropolitan TAFE; Debra, Senior Lecturer from North Metropolitan TAFE; and Tan Nguyen, Teaching Quality and Development Lecturer from North Metropolitan TAFE .
Professor Kim, International Project Director from South Metropolitan TAFE, the deputyChairman Unit of the Alliance, participated online and expressed sincere gratitude to the Zhejiang participants for their active involvement and strong support. He stated that this flagship workshop project has brought vocational educators from both regions closer together and strengthened their collaborative ties. Looking ahead, both sides will boldly explore and expand dimensions in areas such as joint teacher training, co-cultivation of skilled talents, and shared development of practical bases, aiming for the vocational education cooperation between the two regions to yield even more brilliant blossoms and more fruitful outcomes.

The workshop was divided into two sessions. The first session, anchored on the key goal of "Precisely Meeting Student Needs, Empowering Career Development," featured Tabatha Griffin, who elaborated on the cultivation pathways for students' transferable skills. She explained how teachers can provide effective support to students during the transition of skills from the classroom to the workplace and shared practical experiences on offering customized support to students from diverse educational backgrounds to help them better adapt to workplace requirements. Furthermore, the session interpreted the latest contents of the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) standards, highlighting the new standards' focus on training quality, practical components, and teacher engagement, providing valuable references for Chinese teachers to optimize their teaching practices .
The second session focused on the important theme of "Innovating Teaching Practices, Enhancing Teaching Effectiveness." Western Australian experts shared highly practical teaching experiences through case demonstrations and methodology sharing. Ferguson and Debra conducted live demonstrations on the theme "Teaching Applications of Mini Whiteboards and Targeted Questioning," detailing how these two simple yet efficient tools can stimulate student participation and deepen knowledge understanding, offeringIntuitive reference for Chinese teachers to optimize classroom interaction models. Tan Nguyen shared innovative practices in building teacher support systems. The "Community of Practice" created by his team provides a platform for mutual assistance and exchange among teachers. Meanwhile, concise and timely resource packages like "E-learning Tips" and "Quality Quick Bites" offer precise support when teachers urgently need it, effectively enhancing teaching quality and efficiency .
During both sessions, participating teachers formed online study groups by institution and engaged in enthusiastic discussions based on the experts' shares. They actively exchanged typical cases and practical challenges from their own teaching experiences, deepening their understanding of innovative concepts in vocational education through the collision of ideas .

To ensure the workshop's professionalism, relevance, and effectiveness, the Western Australian teaching team meticulously refined the training plan months in advance. They conducted multiple rounds of optimization and improvement on everything from curriculum system construction and teaching case selection to interactive session design. Simultaneously, the training paid special attention to the diversity of the instructor lineup, bringing together not only authoritative scholars in vocational education research and experienced lecturers deeply engaged in frontline teaching but also experts in various dimensions such as teaching quality control and support for specific learning situations. This formed a top-tier instructor matrix covering theoretical research, practical teaching, and quality assurance, providing comprehensive, multi-level professional empowerment for the participating teachers .
As theChairman Unit of the Alliance, our school will continue to play a bridging role under the guidance of the educational administrative departments of both provinces/states. We will persistently advance the Alliance's characteristic brand activities, continuously enrich the content of cooperation, and expand the fields of collaboration. This effort aims to contribute to the high-quality development of vocational education in Zhejiang and Western Australia and inject stronger momentum into the cultivation of vocational skills talents for both regions .
