From October 30th to 31st, guided by the BRICS Business Council Chinese Chapter, the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Training Center, and the Vocational Education Branch of the Lancang-Mekong Countries Entrepreneurship Education Alliance, and with support from the New Generation Computer Application Industry-Education Integration Community and the Data Factor Circulation and Service Industry-Education Integration Community, our institute successfully hosted the 2025 Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition finals for the third E-commerce Operations Data Analysis segment.

The competition featured both domestic and international tracks, attracting 117 teams from 88 institutions across countries including China, Thailand, Vietnam, and Russia to compete in the finals.

On the afternoon of October 30th, a team leaders' meeting was held in the lecture hall of the Industry-Education Building. The judging panel announced competition guidelines, while Pan Honghua, the lead of the E-commerce major at our institute, outlined the schedule, addressed queries from participating teams, and conducted the first-round draw.

The opening ceremony was held on the morning of October 31st. Attendees and speakers included Zhu Hongshu, Director of the Competition Office (Office One) of the BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition Organizing Committee Executive Committee; Liu Zhenying, Chairperson of the Executive Committee; Chen Dong, President of Beijing Bodo Prospect Information Technology Co., Ltd.; and Chen Dequan, President of our institute. Cheng Bo, the Chief Judge and a member of the National Supply and Marketing Cooperative Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, officially declared the competition open. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Shan, Member of the Institute's Party Committee and Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Business Intelligence.

The E-commerce Operations Data Analysis segment, aligned with the opportunities presented by industrial transformation in the digital era, focused on key digital skills and the core competencies required for digital talent. It comprehensively evaluated participants' abilities in data processing, statistical analysis, data visualization, and compiling case analysis reports. The international track additionally required students to deliver roadshow presentations based on their data analysis, thoroughly assessing their comprehensive skills.

The closing ceremony and awards presentation were attended by Wu Gangqun, Secretary of the Institute's Discipline Inspection Commission, Vice President Lin Feng, and heads of relevant departments. Our students achieved outstanding success: those from the E-commerce and Big Data Technology majors not only participated in the domestic higher vocational track but also teamed up with international students from Thailand, Vietnam, and Russia from the School of International Education to compete in the international track. Our institute won gold medals in both the higher vocational group and the international group, with several teachers receiving Outstanding Instructor awards. The institute was also honored with the Outstanding Contribution Award for the finals.

To ensure the smooth execution of the event, the institute attached great importance to meticulous planning, holding several preparatory and coordination meetings with partner enterprises. All faculty and staff of the E-commerce major, along with over 80 student volunteers, contributed to hosting the event. Leveraging this experience, the institute will further deepen teaching reforms in e-commerce, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with international institutions and overseas enterprises, explore pathways for vocational education's global expansion, continuously optimize internationalized curriculum systems and teaching methods, and enhance the international competitiveness of its talent cultivation efforts, thereby contributing to the internationalization of vocational education.
