On October 31, 2025, the inaugural conference of the China-Thailand Industry-Education Integration Development Allianceand the Forum on Intelligent Manufacturing and New Energy Technology Development were held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. The event brought together over 180 representatives from governments, vocational institutions, industries, and enterprises of both countries to discuss collaboration strategies and chart a development roadmap
. Cheng Yuwei, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President of Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade (ZJIET), was invited to attend the conference.
In his address, Mr. Tanapat Saengchan, Director of the Cooperation Department under Thailand’s Ministry of Education Vocational Education Commission, emphasized the deep bond embodied in the phrase "China and Thailand are one family." He shared Thailand’s urgent needs and achievements in upgrading its vocational education system, expressing strong hope that the alliance would cultivate globally competent skilled talents characterized by "proficiency in learning, critical thinking, and practical action," thereby better serving the industrial development of both nations.
Following a multi-channel nomination and qualification review process, ZJIET was elected as a Vice Chair Institution of the alliance, representing Chinese higher vocational colleges. Vice President Cheng Yuwei was invited to witness the official launch of the alliance and participate in the unveiling ceremony.
During the conference, ZJIET engaged in in-depth communications with enterprise representatives from the Thailand Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce. The institute signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Sanxin International Group, the chamber’s chair unit. Both parties agreed to collaborate on talent development and technical services, supporting collaborative "going global" initiatives between institutions and enterprises to contribute to regional socio-economic development in both countries.
The successful establishment of the alliance and related forums has created a high-level, institutionalized platform for vocational education cooperation between China and Thailand. As a Vice Chair Institution, ZJIET will fully leverage this platform to deepen the alignment of vocational education resources with industrial needs, contributing the institute’s expertise to building a closer China-Thailand community with a shared future.
