From September 23 to 30, Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade (ZJIET) successfully completed the orientation for the 2025 cohort of international students. A total of 53 new students from countries such as Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam completed a series of procedures, including group entry medical examinations, registration at various levels of the international student management system, residence visa applications, and freshman placement tests .

To optimize the international student experience, the School of International Education collaborated with multiple departments, including the Student Affairs Office, Assets and Logistics Office, Security Department, and Library Information Center, to coordinate preparatory work . Prior to arrival, basic tasks such as dormitory maintenance, internet access, and information verification were completed. During registration, the college integrated resources to set up a one-stop service station combining functions like document upload, information verification, SIM card activation, bank card processing, and air conditioner rental, enabling students to efficiently complete enrollment procedures .

To create a warm and inclusive campus atmosphere, the college prepared a personalized "welcome kit" for each student, extending greetings from the institute. A bilingual "ZJIET Life Guide" was also compiled to provide detailed campus life information . Additionally, a group of Chinese student volunteers with strong cross-cultural communication skills were recruited to offer personalized living assistance through experience sharing and cultural interactions .

Reflecting the student-centered philosophy, the college organized a written Chinese proficiency test and face-to-face meetings for international freshmen. Based on combined interview and written test results, students were placed into tiered classes. This approach lays the foundation for implementing a "language + vocational skills" talent development model and helps students quickly adapt to their learning environment, clarify goals, and enhance enthusiasm for language and skill acquisition . After enrollment, the college will collaborate with the Qiantang District Police Bureau, partner institutions, and other departments to conduct a series of initial orientation activities, supporting international students in adapting to their new environment . On September 30, as the first session of orientation, the college held a meeting for the 2025 cohort, detailing academic regulations, teaching plans, and learning requirements, while also explaining National Day holiday arrangements and safety education .

Moving forward, the college will focus on national education, safety assurance, and cultural immersion, guiding international students to become vivid storytellers of the ZJIET narrative and friendly ambassadors of Chinese culture. This vibrant new force will further advance the internationalization of the institute’s educational endeavors .
