Beijing, China—Recently, the Signing Ceremony and High-Level Symposium on China-Pakistan Vocational Education Industry-Education Integration Strategic Cooperationwas held in Beijing.The event was attended by distinguished guests including Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister of Food Security of Pakistan (former Minister of Education), Mr. Muhammad Amir Jan, Director General of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC)of Pakistan, as well as leaders from vocational institutions and key enterprises of both countries.  

President Chen Dequanof Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade (ZJIET) was invited to participate and signed a cooperation agreement with Mr. Muhammad Amir Jan during the meeting.

Mr. Muhammad Amir Jan briefly introduced the functions of NAVTTC, emphasizing its role as the leading body in Pakistan’s vocational education sector. He stated that NAVTTC is committed to modernizing Pakistan’s vocational education system and expressed hope that this signing would mark the beginning of deepened collaboration with Chinese institutions in areas such as professional development, faculty exchanges, and skills training.

President Chen Dequan responded to the Pakistani side’s needs by highlighting ZJIET’s strengths in new-generation information technology, digital economy, and health industries, outlining preliminary directions for future cooperation.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including“innovation in industry-education integration models,” “alignment of skill standards,”and “joint talent cultivation,”sharing insights and collaboratively mapping out a blueprint for cooperation.

The event coincided with the important occasion of the Pakistani Prime Minister’s visit to China, aiming to implement the consensus between the two countries on deepening vocational education collaboration and contribute to building a China-Pakistan vocational education development community.  

Approved by the Pakistani federal cabinet and officially authorized by NAVTTC, the activity focused on synergistic development of vocational education between China and Pakistan. Under the theme “China-Pakistan Vocational Education Hand in Hand, Building a Skilled Future,”its core objective was to strengthen the talent foundation for bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation through deepened industry-education integration in the vocational education sector.
