Recently, Zhejiang Provincial Education Department released a list of outstanding cases of Chinese-foreign Collaborative Education (Zhejiaohan [2024] No. 222). Included in the list is a case submitted by our institute (ZJIET), which is titled “Institution-driven and Introduction & Output Combined, Promote Two-way Efforts in China-Finland Vocational Education Cooperation: Innovative Exploration and Practice in China-Finland Collaborative Education Institution Building at Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade”. A total of 51 projects from the provincial colleges and universities were selected, including 22 from higher vocational colleges.
Haaga-Helia Digital Technology and Operation Joint School，which is jointly run by ZJIET and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, has two specialties: E-commerce and Hotel Management & Digital Operation. In 2022, it was approved to be established by the provincial government and then reviewed and filed by the Ministry of Education. There are currently 278 students enrolled. Since its inception, the Joint School has always adhered to its founding requirements of “taking root in China, adopting a global perspective and looking to the future” and upheld the Party’s leadership to strive for the aim of cultivating high-quality technical talents competent in digital technology and international operation. The school introduces Finland’s educational concepts and quality resources, explores new approaches to Chinese-foreign collaborative education featuring school-enterprise integration in multiple respects and makes continuous endeavor to advance education reform, with a view to enhancing specialty advantages and creating distinctive brands and making the school’s talent supply more adaptable and more targeted. All efforts are made to better serve regional industrial development and contribute to bringing China’s vocational education to the world arena and enhancing the school’s international influence.
In the next step, under the leadership of the school’s Party Committee, the school will faithfully study and implement the guiding principles from the 3rd Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the General Secretary Jinping XI’s important speech spirit at the national education conference and, in combination with the requirements of Double High construction, give full play to the exemplary and leading role of an outstanding case, do a good job in undertaking its mission of cultivating virtuous children and advance the introduction, nurturing, creating and integration of quality resources. Focusing on coordinated development of industry, science and education, the school will lay stress on “bring in and go global” and advance system and mechanism construction and reform in talent cultivation model with a spirit of being bold to reform and innovate. The school will strive to develop itself into a distinctive model and contribute to high-quality development of Chinese-foreign collaborative education across the province.
