On September 12-14, the 2024 EducationPlus (Wuxi) International Vocational Education Conference and the Industry-Education Integration Expo, co-organized by the China Vocational Education Society, Wuxi People's Government, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the German Embassy in China, and the German Federal Institute for Vocational Training and Education (BIBB), and hosted by the German Education Industry Association didacta and Messe Stuttgart GmbH, with the school's participation, was held at Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center. Nearly 300 well-known domestic and international enterprises and institutions from more than 10 countries and regions attended the event. The school president Chen Dequan was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the conference and participate in related exchange activities.
This conference integrated international conferences and international industry-education integration exhibitions, with a focus on sharing best practices in international vocational education, connecting high-quality resources in vocational education, exploring future trends in the industry together, and promoting high-quality development of vocational education.
At the opening ceremony, Chen Dequan was invited to participate in the launch ceremony of the cross-border e-commerce Europe-China Erasmus+ project. This project was jointly launched by our school, the European Vocational Education Association, the Spanish National Vocational Education Association, the World Skills Development Alliance, the World Micro-Certificate Alliance, Naklik International Education, as well as five institutions from countries such as the Netherlands, Finland, and Italy. It aimed to help introduce China's high-quality e-commerce professional standards and resources into European countries through international micro-certificate certification and promote cross-border business development of European small and medium-sized enterprises.
Based on early applications and screenings, a series of education internationalization achievements were released and recognized at the conference. The report submitted by the school, Focusing on 'Five Integrations and Dual Promotion to Enhance Quality', Creating a New Pattern of Opening Up for Vocational Education, was awarded an excellent case of 2024 Vocational Education Solutions for China's Participation in Global Governance Co-Building the Cooperation Results of Vocational Education along the Belt and Road. One teacher was named an Outstanding Educator in Vocational Education's International Exchange and Cooperation. The school also received recognition as a Typical Vocational School in International Exchange and Cooperation. This is the second time that our school has received this honor since 2022.
During the conference, there was also an Erasmus+ project cooperation exchange meeting. Chen Dequan attended this meeting on behalf of our school. The chairman of the World Skills Development Alliance Mr. Oscar, as well as representatives from China's Degree Evaluation and Certification Center and institutions from Finland, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, conducted deep discussions on the cooperation content of the Erasmus+ project, responsibilities and divisions of labor, as well as plans for future actions. A specific implementation plan for the project was developed.
The conference also hosted an industry-education integration exposition along with a showcase of high-quality development competitiveness in China's vocational colleges in this era. Our school set up two booths at the vocational education cooperation competitiveness exhibition area to showcase our school's teaching characteristics and highlights in student development, industry-education integration, education reform, international exchanges and cooperation, which attracted nearly thousands of visitors from both home and abroad.
From 2016 to 2023, EducationPlus International Vocational Education Conference & Industry-Education Integration Expo has been successfully held seven times in Nanjing, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Qingdao, Suzhou (Taicang), Changsha with other cities as an important platform for domestic and international vocational education exchanges and integration. This conference focuses on education, technology, talent development as its main theme to strengthen deep integration between vocational education and industries. It also aims to smooth out talent growth paths, explore vocational education collaborations with China plans that are replicable and promotable and establish brands for international exchanges in vocational education to promote connections between education chains with talent chains that are integrated with industry chains and innovation chains.
