On May 29, the ZJIET president Chen Dequan was invited to attend the China-Malaysia International Education Cooperation and Exchange Seminar that was jointly sponsored by the Malaysian Embassy in China, the China-Malaysia International Cooperation Center for Industry and Education, and the National Vocational Workers' Association of Malaysia. Malaysia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development Zahid, Malaysian Ambassador to Beijing Norman, Malaysia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mohamad Alamin and other Malaysian officials attended the event. More than 400 representatives from the Chinese enterprises, universities and associations in Malaysia attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Zahid delivered an important speech. He said that Malaysia attaches great importance to carrying out vocational education cooperation with China. China is advantageous in eight industries and the related fields such as automotive technology, intelligent manufacturing and e-commerce. Malaysia will introduce China's high-quality vocational education system to help Malaysia train more composite technical and skillful talents and enhance the competitiveness of Malaysian youths in employment. He pointed out that in the future, the Malaysian government will send more skilled Malaysian talents to China to learn vocational skills and take pre-employment training. He looked forward to working with all parties to implement the China-Malaysia dual-education cooperation project as soon as possible.
In the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Zahid, Mohamad Shabudin, a Malaysian state lawmaker and advisor of the National Association of Workers, presented the invitation letter to ZJIET for the China-Malaysia Youth Vocational Education Training Program. As one of the second batch of Chinese partner universities in eight key fields, ZJIET will participate in the China-Malaysia skilled personnel training program to promote the economic and social development of Malaysia, promote the vocational education exchanges between the two countries, and carry on the ZJIET share of contribution.
This cooperation is an important measure of ZJIET to explore an innovative and international production-education collaborative development mechanism, to expand the field of international cooperation between China and Malaysia, and to deepen the connotation construction of overseas teaching site in Malaysia—the Kompas Silk Road College. The College serves the Chinese enterprises overseas, facilitating Malaysia's economic development. It also trains high-quality localized technical and technical talents who understand Chinese culture and master China's advanced technologies to serve the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road initiatives.
The year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic ties between China and Malaysia and the Year of China-Malaysia Friendship. This seminar focused on the cooperation between China and Malaysia in industry and education, and exchanged discussions and shared experiences of the teaching standards making and teaching resources building in higher vocational education, of language and skills training, and the school-enterprise integrated teaching. In the next step, ZJIET will take this exchange activity as an opportunity to strive for higher-quality projects featuring the integration of industry and education in China and Malaysia and outstanding projects of the Silk Road College, and will continue to promote the mutual understanding between the peoples and the coordinated development of the two countries.
