The Thailand Vocational College Education Delegation’s visit to ZJIET

        From April 15 to 19, 9 school leaders from 3 colleges and universities came to ZJIET for exchange and visit, namely, Dr. Somchai Tumrongsuk, Cooperation and Exchange Committee of Eastern Thailand Vocational Education Group; Panong Sarakan Vocational and Technical College, Tsimchaburi Technical College, and Panani Air Industry and Community College. Chen Dequan, President of the University, met with them. Leaders of relevant secondary colleges and of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center and teacher representatives participated in the discussion.

        Chen Dequan gave his warm welcome to the Thai vocational college education delegation and briefly introduced the general information about ZJIET, its characteristics of running the school and of running international programs. He said that the cooperation between ZJIET and Thai colleges and Chinese enterprises had a solid foundation and a battery of education achievements. He hoped that through joint efforts, a better and effective long-term mechanism can be built for the cooperation and a win-win situation. We will further enhance the key capabilities of the two sides to serve the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiatives, and will improve the vocational skill training in economic and social development relevant fields in both Thailand and China.

        Dr. Somchai, director of the Foreign Exchange Committee of Eastern Thailand Vocational Education Group expressed his gratitude to ZJIET for the hospitality he had received and his earnest expectations for further in-depth exchanges and cooperation between Thailand and China in vocational education. The representatives of Thai colleges and universities introduced their schools and their professional courses, hoping that with the win-win cooperation concept in mind, the two sides may carry out diversified inter-school programs. During the meeting, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on short-term student exchange programs, Thai teacher training programs, the Chinese teachers visits to Thailand for work or for study, and the joint programs of student cultivating.

        On behalf of the school, Chen Dequan signed a student exchange program agreement and a memorandum of friendship and cooperation with Eastern Thailand Vocational Education Group, ThailandChanthaburi Technical College, Thailand Panong Sarakan Vocational and Technical College, Thailand Panani Air Industrial Community College of Chonburi Province. The two sides held the plate unveiling ceremony for the jointly established ZJIET Campus of the Thai Student Study-abroad Base.

        During the visit, the education delegation visited the ZJIET Digital Brain and Digital Craftsman College and the Food Nutrition and Test training base, touring around the Xizi Aviation Industry Co., LTD., Hangzhou Changan-Ford Automobile Co., LTD., innovation garden of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Cainiao Group and so on making special research and investigations into machinery manufacturing, tea and tea drinking, e-commerce logistics and the like. From their visits to the new achievements and technology applications of digital technology, artificial intelligence, and food processing, they had a better understanding of China's advanced manufacturing industry and digital economy, a further technical exchange and cultural understanding. This is an opportunity of promoting exchanges between teachers and students of both sides, enhancing their vocational skills from a global perspective and sharing resources.

        Thanks to the Thai-China Rayong Silk Road College for its vantage in building teaching bases abroad, the school will take this educational exchange between China and Thailand as an opportunity to further land the results of the Thai vocational education delegation visit, to continue expanding the fields of international exchange and cooperation between China and Thailand, and to create a new situation in educational exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
