On the morning of December 2, the opening ceremony of the first training course Chinese + New Media Operation of the China-Philippines Silk Road Institute of Economics and Trade was held via a video link. It was jointly organized by ZJIET, the University of Perpetual Help System, and the Sino-Philippines Silk Road Institute Foundation. President Chen Dequan and Vice President Jiang Lijun of ZJIET, President Ferdinand C. Somido and Vice President Genevieve Reyalon of University of Perpetual Help System, and President Zhang Hongyang of the China-Phillipines Silk Road Institute Foundation were present at the ceremony.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the ZJIET Vice President Jiang Lijun and attended by the directors of relevant departments of the two schools and all the Philippine trainees.
In his speech, President Chen Dequan pointed out that as the first program in vocational skills for the Philippine trainees, the training course shows that more people are benefited from ZJIET's high-quality teaching resources and that the construction of the professional teaching standards is developed into a new stage. He hopes that the two sides shall further improve the operation mechanism of the China-Philippines Silk Road Institute of Economics and Trade, continue to deepen the international cooperation between schools and enterprises in industry-education integration, concertedly build a talent training and technical support platform for the high-quality cross-border e-commerce industry chain, and actively carry out innovative and practical cooperation in various fields such as skill training and joint education programs, so as to provide greater support for the economic development of the two countries.
Dr. Ferdinand expressed his gratitude to ZJIET for its meticulous preparations for the training course. He believes that new media marketing, especially the TikTok live streaming operation, has created a new e-commerce model worldwide. He hopes that the students of University of Perpetual Help System can actively participate in it to facilitate their future career planning.
Zhang Hongyang extended her congratulations on the successful opening of the training course and fully affirmed the efforts made by the two schools for organizing the event. She said that in recent years, more and more Philippine students are keen on studying Chinese language, new media operation, E-commerce and so on. She hopes that this training course could further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two schools, enhancing mutual learning, deepening friendship and promoting exchanges between the Chinese and Philippine peoples.
On the opening ceremony, the director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center gave a detailed introduction to the training content, teaching team, learning requirements and the grading methods of the program.
The teaching team of this Chinese + New Media Operation training course is made up of the teachers from the ZJIET School of Information Technology, School of Humanities and Tourism, and the School of Business Administration. It is conducted in the forms of live streaming+ recorded broadcasting. The content covers four topics, namely, short video production and promotion, live streaming promotion and practice, new media marketing, and e-commerce platform. On the opening day, more than 50 teachers and students from University of Perpetual Help System participated in the online training. Three teachers from ZJIET gave live lectures online in English. There were lively interactions between the teachers and students, particularly in the active Q&A session. The course contents and instructional design were highly praised by the Philippine teachers and students.
