Kompas Silk Road College’s second "Chinese + Digital Skills" training program launched

On September 14, the second Chinese + Digital Skills training program jointly run by ZJIET and Kompas International College of Malaysia kicked off via a video link. The opening ceremony was attended by ZJIET President Chen Dequan, Vice President Jiang Lijun, Kompas International College President  AHMAT ZAMRI, Director of Resources of Shenzhai Education Group AHMAT ZAMRI, and the heads of the relevant departments of both schools. Jiang Lijun, Vice President of ZJIET, presided over the meeting.

In his opening remarks, Chen Dequan pointed out that ZJIET has always attached great importance to the education exchanges and cooperation with the Belt and Road countries, and has continuously promoted the construction of the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Community. The opening of this workshop is an important step of ZJIET to implement the gist of the World Vocational Education Conference and to further serve the Belt and Road Initiatives. It is also a substantial achievement of Kompas Silk Road College. Next, it is hoped that the two sides will further improve the mechanism, expand the fields, and enhance the ties of our cooperation. The resource advantages of Kompas College are expected to better contribute to BDI construction.

Dr. AHMAT ZAMRI fully affirmed ZJIETs contribution to the construction of Kompas Silk Road College. He believes that in an information society where digital technology develops rapidly, ZJIETs Chinese + digital skills” training program is of far-reaching significance. He hopes that the two schools can reinforce their cooperation in professional development, teaching practice, and curriculum design to support BDI with technically skilled talents via the Kompas platform.

Jiang Li-jun pointed out in her speech that Kompas Silk Road College is among the first batch of the kind approved in Zhejiang Province. She hopes that the two schools can adhere to the principle of sharing complementary advantages, mutual benefits, and common development to seek constant optimization of the system, adopt pragmatic and innovative measures, and standardize the operation procedure. The two schools shall work together to build a high quality talent training and technical support platform in multiple fields to contribute more to the economic development of both China and Malaysia, and BDI construction.

Kevin, the representative of Kompas International College trainees, spoke at the meeting also. He thinks that the study of digital technology and operation courses in the Silk Road College has  benefited the students enormously. They can put what they have learned into practice to create more possibilities for their careers. International Exchange and Communication Center summarized the first Chinese + Digital Skills training program between China and Malaysia, and explained the second program in detail.

During the conference, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement on Kompas Silk Road College talent training and inaugurated the program.

The teaching team of the current Chinese + Digital Skills training project is composed of 15 teachers coming, respectively, from the School of Information Technology, the School of Finance and Accounting, and the School of Business Administration. In the form of live streaming + recorded broadcasting, the program offers four modules, i.e. new media marketing, search engine marketing, big data financial technology, and e-commerce platform. On its opening day, more than 40 teachers and students from Kompas International College of Malaysia participated in the online training, and four teachers from ZJIET completed the live online teaching in English. Apart from bringing in lively interactions among the teachers and students, the course was highly praised for both its content and design.
