Building a Digital Skill Learning Ecosystem and Bright Future for the Chinese and Thai Youth—ZJIET officials attended the Sino-Thai

The 2022 China-Thailand Chinese + Vocational Skills Education Cooperation Forum opened online on Sept 22. It was jointly-sponsored by Yunnan Normal University, the National E-commerce Vocational Education and Teaching Steering Committee, the Vocational Education Commission of the Ministry of Education of Thailand and the China-Laos-Thailand Joint Center of the International Education Digitalization Research and Development in Yunnan Province. ZJIET President Chen Dequan, Vice Presidents Zhang Hong and Jiang Lijun were invited to the video conference.

The forum, themed with Building a Digital Skill Learning Ecosystem and Bright Future for the Chinese and Thai Youth, had deliberations on frontier issues, such as international education cooperation model innovation, joint talent training, and international industry-education integration in the context of the digital era. Representatives from more than 200 vocational colleges from China and Thailand attended the event.

 It also released, a number achievements in the China-Thailand cooperated Chinese + Vocational Skills project. ZJIET won the honor of being a demonstration school of the project. President Chen Dequan accepted the honorary plate on behalf of the school and signed the Chinese + Vocational Skills inter-school cooperation agreement with Thai ZongTong Vocational College to set up a cooperative base for its promotion and to further optimize the ZJIET education exchanges and cooperation in Thailand.

Released on the forum was the first set of internationalized textbooks with the “1+X” certificate for the China-Thailand cooperation project Chinese + Vocational Skills. Vice president Zhang Hong, as a member of the textbook editorial board, witnessed the release ceremony.

In the sharing session of the China-Thailand cooperation, vice president Jiang Lijun was invited to give a keynote speech on the topic of Sharing standards and integrating language skills to facilitate the launch of the Silk Road College. She elaborated the internationalization progress of ZJIET in the new development situation and its innovations and achievements in serving the Belt and Road Initiatives and in implementing the Chinese national strategies for international production capacity cooperation. Her speech was highly appraised by all the participants.

In recent years, ZJIET has actively participated in the Sino-Thai E-commerce Valley construction, worked with the National E-commerce Industry Steering Committee to build the International Curriculum Development Center and carried out internationalized teacher training, digital resource development, and the 1 + X certificate internationalization training and promotion. In all, over ten Chinese + vocational skills training programs have been implemented in the Belt and Road” countries

 Next, ZJIET will give full play to its advantages and characteristics in implementing the Belt and Road E-commerce Valley teaching-industry integration program. By building an internationalized digital skill talent cultivation system integrating standard research and development, resources construction, talent training, competitions and communications, innovations, and entrepreneurship, ZJIET is to deepen its vocational education cooperation along the Belt and Road and enhance its international cooperation.
