Recently, the list for the first batch of pilot colleges and universities in the Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education Cooperation Program (SGAVE) was announced by the Ministry of Education. From the 464 universities that applied, our schools application stood out from all the other colleges and universities  applications and was successfully selected as the first batch of pilot majors in the field of automobile (new energy).

The Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education (SGAVE) is a cooperative program jointly implemented by Chinas Ministry of Education, the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and five German leading automobile enterprises. The project aims to deepen industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation and to further promote the reform of vocational education methods, school-running modes, management systems, and guarantee mechanism. By learning from the German dual system school-running mode, the project aims to promote the construction of an internationally advanced vocational education system with Chinese characteristics.

In July 2021, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the Notice on Selecting Advanced Sino-German Vocational Education Program (Office of Foreign Education Affairs (2021) No. 16). ZJIET attached great importance to it and immediately set up a project preparation team. To meet the SGAVE evaluation requirements, the project team was well prepared in compiling the application materials and presented well when the expert visited on site.

ZJIET was selected as one of the first pilot universities running a SGAVE Project registered at the Ministry of Education. This was a successful attempt to deepen international industry-education cooperation and school-enterprise cooperation, introducing high-quality teaching resources for the reform of vocational education. In the next step, ZJIET will take the construction of the SGAVE project as an opportunity to deepen Chinese and German cooperation in respect of industry-education integration, school-enterprise cooperation, and international cooperation. By making full use of advanced German technology and experience in the automotive field, we aim to build a program teaching mechanism oriented by the dual system. Using this mechanism, we will set up a curriculum system, train teachers capable of both teaching and engineering, and set up a management system for the evaluation and smooth running of the program. We will promote teaching reform and the localization of the international experience on top of which we shall innovate and create our own professional talent cultivation system that is up to the modern high-speed development of new energy automotive technology. Further, by creating such high-quality international cooperation programs, we hope to effectively improve the general level of the school in terms of industry-education integration, school-enterprise cooperation and education internationalization. We aim to contribute to the construction of a high-quality vocational school and vocational subjects and aim to provide talent for the transformation and upgrading of the regional manufacturing and high-quality development.
