The School of Public Education consists of four teaching and research sectors, namely, PE, Foreign Language, Humanities, and Mental Health Education. It also boasts a labor education research center authorized by the National Labor Education Institute, a national vocational and technical college traditional art inheritance and demonstration teaching base. There is also an intangible cultural heritage demonstration teaching base, as well as a public art education practice center and a Zhejiang business culture research institute. There are 50 faculty members, about 20% of whom hold senior academic titles. The School offers more than 10 fundamental and elective courses, covering Sports and Health, Military Theory, Labor Education Technology and Practice, College English, Zhejiang Business Culture, Career Development and Employment Guidance for College Students, ABCs for Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Public Art, and Mental Health Education for College Students.

The School provides four provincial-level high-quality online open courses, and is undertaking one national social science project and five provincial and ministerial projects. It has published more than 10 papers in the nations core research journals and been granted 500,000 yuan in funds for its cooperative projects. Of the seven inventions and utility models it has developed, two have been transformed into products.

      1. The Taching and Research Office of the Humanities

The Teaching and Research Sector of Humanities, established in 2008, currently with four teaching groups and one research institute (Zhejiang Business Culture Research Institute), undertakes the education, research and social services of four fundamental courses, namely, Zhejiang Business Culture, ABCs for Entrepreneurship, Career Development and Employment Guidance for College Students, and College Aesthetics.  Adhering to the school motto of upholding business ethics, it is striving to explore effective education methods that leverage on the School’s characteristics and strengthen the school-enterprise cooperation. The sector is committed to building a scientific humanistic quality education system, constantly improving the students' cultural awareness, professional quality, and fostering their capacity in techniques and skills. 


      2. The Taching and Research Office of the PE 

Responsible for all the colleges PE courses, including PE and Health, Military Theory, and Labor Education, the Physical Education Teaching and Research Sector also manages a student physical activity center, a student physical health testing center, a vocational quality development center and a staff activity center in an organizational framework of one sector and four centers. Collectively, they provide the education and training for courses in football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, tennis, yoga, taekwondo, martial arts, traditional health and fitness defense, shaping and sports dance, fitness and so on. The well-equipped facilities create a good environment for physical education, training, competition and extracurricular sports activities.


      3. The Taching and Research Office of the Foreign Language 

The faculties in the Foreign Language Teaching and Research sector mainly teach the general courses of College English I and II. Relying on an integrated online and offline teaching mode, it is committed to cultivating the students' intercultural communication awareness and comprehensive English proficiency. The students are expected to achieve a wide-ranging improvement in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation skills and foster an international vision and patriotism to enable them to spread Chinese culture to the rest of the world and tell the Chinese stories well. Education and training of such a nature will also lay good foundations for their future employment competitiveness and sustainable development.


      4. The Taching and Research Office of the Mental Health Education 

Established in 2020, the Mental Health Education sector undertakes the teaching task of Mental Health Education for College Students for all the students of the university. The course combines knowledge transfer, psychological experience and behavioral training. Cooperating with the Universitys mental health education center, the sector faculty also assists in psychological consultation, crisis intervention and mental health publicity activities. The sector adheres to the student-centered education philosophy in curriculum reform and scientific research, helping the students enhance their self-recognition, self-adaptation, and their over-all development.
