There are five majors in the School of Creative Design: exhibition planning and management, communication and planning, animation production technology, hotel management and digital operation, and modern secretary. More than 1700 students are enlisted. Among others, the exhibition planning and management major is the national backbone major, the provincial characteristic major and the provincial advantage major. The hotel management and digital operation major is the provincial characteristic major, the national supply and marketing cooperative system characteristic major and the ZJIET key major. The communication and planning teaching and research team was entitled the 2018-2019 provincial leading youth group.
The school philosophy of constant learning to become perfect in skills and quick in practice has always been adhered to and the school motto of be moral in doing business is carried out in the overall development of the school and the institute, reaching consensus and gathering strengths. The party building work and professional work are deeply integrated, reinforcing the political leadership. In the active promotion of the party building work and the high-quality development of the school, a united, striving and responsible leadership team is formed, giving full play to the vitality of the CPC fundamental groups. The CPC branch of the school has been entitled advanced fundamental party branch many times; The party branches subordinated to the school have been repeatedly awarded the titles of the ZJIET advanced fundamental party branch and model party branch.
The college adheres to the tenet of moral education and the training concept of solidifying students’ knowledge foundation to enable them with a variety of capacities and to expand the ways of enhancing students' comprehensive quality. In the humanities quality education project, or the so-called “166” project, humanity lectures and six types of themed cultural activities are managed to improve six qualities of the students--write a good article, have a beautiful handwriting, make a beautiful PPT, take a good photo, be eloquent and keep a good image--aiming to teach the students to become high-quality technical skilled talents with comprehensive qualities. In the past three years, students have performed well in various skill competitions, winning two first prizes and one third prize in national competitions, while in provincial competitions, winning 14 first prizes, 38 second prizes and 43 third prizes.
There are two research centers in the school, namely, the Oriental Exhibition Research Center and Zhejiang Rural Tourism and Leisure Agriculture Research Center. The school also has one humanistic training center and 9 training rooms for film and television editing training, covering a total of 3414 square meters. The school adopts the school-enterprise collaborative talent training mode, headquarters in Hangzhou, facing Zhejiang and the Yangtze River Delta economic circle and radiating the whole country, to accurately dock industrial needs. It cooperates closely with enterprises and institutions such as Hangzhou Tianyuan Building and Hangzhou Changqiao Tourism Investment Group Co., LTD., keeping an employment rate of graduates as high as 97%, if not higher.
