Founded in June 2019, the School of Marxism is a secondary institution jointly set up by Zhejiang ACFSMC, Zhejiang CPC College Marxism Research Institute, and Zhejiang Gongshang University School of Marxism. Tasked with teaching, research, publicity and talent training of Marxism theory in ZJIET, it consists of three teaching and research offices, respectively focusing on, ideology, ethics and rule of law, the introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and situation and policy. Currently, there are 29 full-time faculty staff, including two professors, 11 associate professors and two PhD graduates. Rated as a provincial model in teaching ideological and political theory courses among the colleges and universities in Zhejiang, it distinguishes itself with the Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, which is currently a top online open course.
1. The Taching and Research Office of Ideology and Ethics and Rule of Law
With 10 full-time faculty staff, including five associate professors and two lecturers, it mainly undertakes the teaching of topics like Ideology, Ethics and Rule of Law (a school-level high-quality course), Modern Chinese History, Basic Principles of Marxism and others. The faculty members have achieved fruitful results, having been engaged in the teaching and the research of ideological and political theory for a long time.
2. The Taching and Research Office of Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics
With 10 full-time faculty staff, including one professor, four associate professors and three lecturers, the office delivers the course entitled Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. As one of the popular online open courses in Zhejiang, it aims to guide students to master the basic principles of Marxism and its localized achievement, and help them achieve a profound understanding of President Xi’s ideas of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and develop the ability to apply a Marxist stand point to analyzing and solving problems in their growth to be qualified socialism builders and reliable successors.
3. TThe Taching and Research Office of Situation and Policy
With nine full-time faculty staff, including one professor, two associate professors and three lecturers, plus 25 part-time teachers, the office offers the course of Situation and Policy, which is designed to help students better understand the Marxism of contemporary China, the historic accomplishments of the CPC and the state, the historic opportunities and challenges, so as to raise their political awareness of the nation’s economic construction, and help them set up a clear positioning and goal in life.
